On the eve of Victory Day, JSC “Solikamskbumprom” held traditional events aimed to remind people today of the terrible pages of our country's history and the great feat of the Soviet people in the war against fascism. Every year, the papermakers honor the heroes who fought on the front and acted Victory in the rear.
The start of festive events was given early in the morning on May 7th, at 7:30 a.m. the “St. George Ribbon” campaign took place near the central checkpoint. Activists from the youth association “BUMerang” greeted papermakers at the entrance, congratulated them on one of the most significant days in the Russian calendar, and presented the symbol of Victory – the St. George ribbon.— This campaign has long become a tradition for the mill – it is held every year on the eve of May 9th. When I was invited to take part, I agreed at once. I believe such events are very important and necessary. They urge us to remember our history, to honor and respect the memory of the victorious heroes, — shares Nikolay Brazhkin, a repair mechanic at the Cellulose Production Plant. — I think we should not forget such history lessons. The war affected every family. Today we remember the feat of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, and we are proud of them!
The series of themed events continued with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument to the Fallen Papermaker Warriors. With a minute of silence, the participants honored the memory of those who defended the freedom of the Motherland at the cost of their lives.
Addressing colleagues, Natalia Stupnikova, president of JSC “Solikamskbumprom”, noted:
— Victory Day is the most important holiday for every family living in our country. We carefully preserve the memory of the Soviet people's feat in the Great Patriotic War and pass it on to future generations. I am deeply convinced that as long as this memory lives in our hearts, our people will remain invincible. Today, the traditions of patriotism are carried on by our colleagues – the employees of the enterprise who are now fulfilling their duty as part of the special military operation. We support them with all our hearts and look forward to their return home!
