A unique educational track is being successfully implemented at Solikamsk Technological College with the support of JSC “Solikamskbumprom”. Today even schoolchildren can get a working profession. This year more than fifty boys and girls took advantage of this opportunity.
On May 20, a ceremonial awarding of vocational education certificates took place for students fr om schools in Solikamsk and Krasnovishersk. The project “My First Profession” was launched and successfully piloted last year. It was then, for the first time in the Perm Region, that a four-party cooperation agreement was signed between the regional Center for Advanced Professional Training, the Department of Education of the Solikamsk City District, JSC “Solikamskbumprom” and Solikamsk Technological College.
The initiative has proven popular among young people, with the number of participants doubling this year. Sixty ninth-graders from nine schools in Solikamsk and Krasnovishersk joined the “My First Profession” project.
“You’ve done an outstanding job!” said Natalia Valerievna Shipulina, Director of Solikamsk Technological College, addressing the students. “After school classes, you attended college courses, demonstrated excellent knowledge in qualification exams, and today you’re receiving your first-ever document confirming your professional skills.”
Along with their certificate of education, the students received two invitations: one was to enter Solikamsk Technological College (STC) and another to work at JSC “Solikamskbumprom”. The ninth-graders highly appreciated this opportunity, noting that they now hold a clear roadmap for their future.
“I’m still studying — finishing ninth grade at School No. 14. Final exams are ahead, but today I have already received my first profession certificate. Now I’m a 2nd-grade maintenance technician,” Oleg Chagin shows the documents he received and emphasizes that his choice was deliberate and conscious. “Workers of my profession are needed everywhere. In the summer I can go to the enterprise and earn my first pocket money, then continue studying at the college and build a career in production. Perhaps I will take advantage of these invitations. At least, I will definitely consider this option.”
Andrey Gaar and Denis Kremer, now STC students, shared their enthusiasm. The guys said that last year, as school students, they also took their first steps into the profession. Today, they study at the college with pleasure, claiming that having knowledge about the profession, they made a conscious choice and did not regret it. Studying at the college is interesting, the teaching staff is professional, and adaptation was quick.
Future graduates were keenly interested in the experience of Dmitry A. Shvarev, an employee of JSC “Solikamskbumprom”, a maintenance technician of the Repair Workshop. Dmitry's short career can already be called a success story. In just one year, he “grew up” to a fifth-grade specialist. And he believes that Solikamskbumprom provides each employee with great opportunities for development:
“A year ago, I graduated from STC. Using the knowledge I gained there, I joined the paper mill, wh ere true professionals work. Working in a team, I acquired new knowledge and skills. Recently, the company held a professional skills competition among maintenance technicians. The jury highly appreciated the level of my professional training. This is pleasant and motivates me to continue working and grow professionally.”
Lyudmila Valerievna Fisyuk, Director for social issues and interaction with authorities of JSC “Solikamskbumprom”, warmly congratulated the young specialists:
“You are the heroes of today. The professions of “maintenance technician” and “chemical analysis lab technician” are in demand today in all enterprises of the city. This is a high-paying job that allows you to grow into a qualified specialist. Enter Solikamsk Technological College! Come to work at Solikamskbumprom! Each of you has a great future ahead. Success, good luck, believe in yourself and achieve your goals.”
Representatives of the Solikamsk and Krasnovishersk education departments emphasized the significance of the “My First Profession” project. Analyzing the experience of last year, it is clear that the guys are happy to take advantage of the opportunities presented: a third of the graduates of the educational track-2024 got a job at Solikamskbumprom in the summer. Today, all industrial enterprises are experiencing a shortage of personnel. However, thanks to such initiatives, the situation is gradually changing. Students choose technical specialties, prepare to go to work in production, and strive to "grow" into highly qualified specialists. And “My first profession” becomes the first step in the realization of their life plans.
