An interesting fact: workers of 339 professions are required to produce high-quality paper and lignosulfonates at JSC Solikamskbumprom. Participants of the “Profismena” project, which started this year in Kerchevsky village of Cherdynsky district.
Traditionally, the project partner was Joint Stock Company Solikamskbumprom. In 2024, around 300 high school students from Verkhnekamye took part in the “Profismena” project, aimed at increasing schoolchildren’s interest in in-demand professions of the Perm Krai. They immersed themselves in the world of paper industry careers and today they already know that paper production not only fascinating but also prospective.
Students in grades 7–9 of the Kerchevskaya School have already toured the enterprise’s industrial site. They visited the repair and mechanical workshop, observed paper production and finished product shipping department.
The students were particularly impressed by the process of repairing a paper-making machine, which was explained in detail by Alexey Kashin, senior foreman of the PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance). The group had the unique opportunity to see the scale of the machine both externally and internally.
— I was pleasantly surprised by the students’ focus and seriousness, their complete immersion into the world of paper production, and their high level of interest, — shared Svetlana Shpak, Deputy Head of Human Resources, Head of the Personnel Training and Development Group. — Further, within the framework of the “Profismena” program, participants will work with our cases and defend their projects. I would like to note separately how warmly the paper makers welcomed the guys, realizing that they are the future of the company.
