Meetings on the implementation of lean manufacturing tools at the repair and mechanical workshop, centralized repair shop, and equipment repair shop of the separate subdivision “Vishera” took place during the last week of May and the first week of June. Every six months, members of the working groups analyze the achievement of improvement project goals and present the results to the President of JSC “Solikamskbumprom”.
The meetings were attended by the Chief Engineer of the enterprise, Director for Economics and Finance, Security Director, as well as heads of structural subdivisions involved in the projects, HR management and labour protection services. Such a large number of participants confirms the importance of the labour productivity improvement program for the top management of JSC “Solikamskbumprom”.Development Director Evgenia Pisotskaya in her opening speech, reminded the meeting participants of the goals of the labor productivity improvement program: increasing the efficiency of production processes, improving labor productivity, and development a lean manufacturing culture among employees.
Work on any improvement project begins with training the employees involved in the project. For this purpose, internal lean manufacturing trainers Denis Anatolyevich Tislov, Maxim Aleksandrovich Kuznetsov, and Vladimir Brunovich Kem have been prepared and certified.
Evgenia Petrovna Pisotskaya, Development Director: “Our task is to train as many enterprise employees as possible in the fundamentals of Lean Manufacturing. Training under labor productivity improvement programs is state-funded; it's important to maximize the use of this opportunity.”
Between April and September 2024, 500 workers and line managers fr om production structural divisions, Department of Labor Organization and Wages, HR Department, and Occupational Safety and Industrial Safety Department were trained at the enterprise basis by certified trainers fr om the specialized center "Kaidzen". Another 50 managers and specialists completed training via e-courses on the website Proizvoditelnost.rf. This year, we plan to extend the e-courses to managers and specialists from the remaining management departments and the departments of chief specialists.
In 2024, 2 export product sales specialists received certificates from the Russian Export Center's Export School for completing the “Export Growth Accelerator” program. In 2025, 8 heads of structural divisions, including the enterprise's chief specialists, will undergo training under the “Leaders of Productivity” management training program at the Productivity Improvement Center based at the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade. The training is conducted in a convenient remote format.
Company President Natalia Sergeevna Stupnikova has decided that the youth team of JSC “Solikamskbumprom” will participate in the regional Lean Championship, the final of which will take place in December at the Perm Engineering Forum. This means the enterprise will be able to prepare a youth reserve for work on improvement projects.
The reporting meetings were held directly on the production sites wh ere Lean Manufacturing is currently being implemented. Heads of structural divisions Evgeny Ivanovich Mokhovikov, Valentin Vladimirovich Leirikh, Artem Valerievich Petrenko, and Nikolai Petrovich Kuchev provided detailed accounts of how the improvement plans are being implemented, the problems encountered during the projects, what changes have been achieved, what still needs to be done, and highlighted the need for equipment and premises renewal and repair.
The repair & construction shop, whose head Lyudmila Ilyinichna Fedotova was also present at the meeting, completed a huge volume of work over the year repairing production and sanitary facilities in the repair and mechanical workshop. It has become noticeably brighter and, consequently, more comfortable to work there.
Tatiana Arsentievna Vetchinova, Project Manager (for labor productivity improvement): “We started work in November 2023 with one production site – the unit repair section of the mechanical workshop. Currently, we are implementing improvement projects at 12 production sites in three structural divisions: the repair and mechanical workshop, centralized repair shop, and equipment repair shop of the separate subdivision “Vishera”.
Tatiana Arsentievna shared that over time, the mindset of workers and foremen on the production sites is changing; they are beginning to understand that order at the workplace is convenient and makes work easier. It is very important to learn to maintain order daily. At the next stage, it is necessary to "awaken" initiative among the workers so that they themselves propose improvements for their sites and to build systematic work in this direction so that workers believe their proposals are significant for management and the enterprise. We intend to build this work within the framework of a Project Office. Regulations for the Project Office and regulations for handling ideas have already been prepared. We will implement this tool this year.
Alexey Nikolaevich Fedotov, Chief Engineer, expressed confidence that the work done should be reflected in the enterprise's performance results. “It is impossible to produce quality, competitive products in the required volumes under conditions wh ere workshops are disorderly, equipment are faulty, and normal working conditions are not provided for production personnel.” He wished the participants of the improvement projects continued progress in improving process efficiency and assured them of his readiness to provide support in this direction.
Natalia Sergeevna Stupnikova, President of JSC “Solikamskbumprom”, thanked the members of the working groups, heads of structural divisions, and the project manager for the work done. She noted that significant progress had been made and set the task to continue work under the program, gradually covering other production processes.
The next meeting at the top management level will take place in December 2025.
