On May 16th, the exhibition “Labor Dynasties of the Perm Krai” opened at the “Worker and Kolkhoz Woman” pavilion at VDNKh in Moscow. This day the exhibition was attended by representatives of dynasties, among them paper makers: Dukki (343 years of employment), Chudnovskiye-Stankevich (222 years), Sommerfeld-Kuznetsovs (432 years), Muzafarovs-Smailovs (384 years).
Guests were given a tour where they learned about the rich industrial history of the Perm Krai and see the photos of the labour dynasties' founders brought to life using neural networks. The exhibition features rare photographs, archival documents and personal stories that reveal the importance of labor dynasties in the development of the economy, culture and social life of the Perm region, and shows its “solid foundation” – an installation that presents all the dynasties with their total work experience.
Special attention is given to dynasties associated with famous Perm brands – ballet and sports, science and journalism as well as families whose working lives are connected to education and healthcare. Two local cinemas reflect the dynasties' contributions to industry and the social sphere, while a third features workers of the krai from the past, present, and future. An interactive element for teenagers and young people offers the chance to take career guidance tests.
The event included an award ceremony for representatives of the labor dynasties. The commemorative badge “Family Pride” and anniversary medals were presented by the Head of the Region, Dmitry Makhonin. Established by a decree of the Governor of the Perm Krai, this award was presented for the first time this year. It is intended for families who have worked in the same professional field for at least three generations, have achievements in their work, and have made significant contributions to preserving and strengthening family values and traditions, as well as to the socio-economic development of the country. Now, the names of the paper industry dynasties are forever inscribed in the history of the krai.
“We truly have someone to be proud of: there are over 150 labor dynasties in the region. Today, 11 labor dynasties are present here, whose combined work experience totals over 4,000 years,” said the Head of the Perm Krai to the participants. “We are proud that the Perm Krai is a backbone region for our country, and its cities bear the title “City of Labor Valor”. We must instill in our children a love for work and respect for history. This will allow us to solve the tasks set before us by our state. I want to thank all those gathered for what you do for our country and for the Perm Krai”.
In turn, Anton Kotyakov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, noted:
“This space is dedicated to those who create our country's economy – people devoted to their work for generations. And today we are opening the Perm Krai exposition. The region is rich in enterprises with long histories, families whose work experience counts centuries. I would like to wish the Perm Krai to promote its industry with the same perseverance and to support families who work wholeheartedly and with full dedication for the benefit of the region and our country.”
It is worth recalling that the permanent “Labor Dynasties” exhibition was opened by order of the President of Russia in 2024. The exposition at VDNKh will run until August 15, 2025. Everyone is welcome to visit and feel pride for their fellow countrymen.
May the journey of the labor dynasties continue for many years to come. We sincerely hope that their numbers at our enterprise grow every year!
Opinions
Sergey Evgenievich Dukki, First Deputy Director – Head of the Department of product shipments and sales to the domestic market:
“It was a pleasure to receive such an award; it is the merit of all my relatives and close people who worked at the company at different times. Thank you to the Public Relations department staff and our museum staff who painstakingly collect and preserve such data. The younger generation should know and remember the history of their ancestors.”
Tatyana Nikolaevna (Head of laboratory and technical control department) and Viktor Gotlibovich (Deputy Head of PTD) Sommerfeld:
“Interactive screens are placed in the halls displaying materials from the family archives of the labor dynasties. There was also a surprise during the award ceremony – using modern technology, a photograph of my mother, Anna Vasilievna Kuznetsova, “came to life”. It was very touching. The exhibition will be useful for everyone: adults will feel satisfaction that their work continues, and young people will have another reason to be proud of their ancestors.”
Svetlana Polikarpovna Stankevich, Enterprise Veteran, Honorary Worker of JSC “Solikamskbumprom”:
“Pride, happiness, pure positivity! 11 dynasties, all from different cities of the Prikamye region. Personally, I had a complete feeling that I was at a class reunion, only these graduates weren't from a school, but from the Perm Krai. But sometimes sadness washed over me – it's a pity that my parents, who brought me to the mill, are no longer here; I would have shared my joy with them now.”
Nayle Serverovna Muzaffarova, Head of the History Museum of JSC “Solikamskbumprom”:
“The dynasties of papermakers are the asset and pride of the enterprise, a living history. Proof of this is the family tree of dynasties, tracing the entire history of the enterprise from its start-up to the present day. Labor dynasties are also the future of the enterprise. We thank the enterprise management for this opportunity and the event organizers for their attention to the labor dynasties.”
