On October 15 and 16, 2025, the VIII industry scientific and practical conference "Environmental Protection in the Pulp and Paper Industry" will be held in Solikamsk at the site of JSC “Solikamskbumprom”.
The conference is organized by JSC “Solikamskbumprom” and the Russian Union of Timber Industrialists and Timber Exporters.
The conference is traditionally aimed at uniting the efforts of government authorities, businesses, public and scientific organizations to develop an environmentally oriented economy, preserve forests and improve the efficiency of their use.
Another important aspect of the business meeting is the improvement of management and legal regulation in the field of environmental protection, climate and forestry relations, as well as the formation of a consolidated position of industry enterprises on these issues.
This year, the conference will examine issues of strategic development of the forestry complex, including technological (technical) and personnel support, and increasing labor productivity.
Representatives of federal and regional authorities, business associations, research and educational organizations, and Russian forest industry enterprises are invited to participate in the conference events.

Over the past two decades, a reliable “ecological foundation” has been laid for the sustainable development of the enterprise: a comprehensive system for using all types of resources generated during wood processing has been created, an effective system for cleaning industrial wastewater has been introduced, and a system for regular environmental monitoring and environmental management has been built.
JSC “Solikamskbumprom” utilizes and processes 98-99% of waste generated in production processes. The company receives ~ 40% of the consumed thermal energy through the use of biofuels and the recovery of thermal energy on the lines of thermomechanical pulp and gas piston power plant.
In 2024, “Solikamskbumprom” received a comprehensive environmental permit, which serves as a guarantee of the enterprise's compliance with environmental requirements and standards, provides a legal basis for carrying out activities, helps strengthen its environmental reputation and increases trust from the public and partners.
In the same year, the company successfully passed the procedure of auditing the forest management system and timber supply chains for compliance with the standards of the National Voluntary Forest Certification System (NSFC). Many large domestic and foreign buyers of forest products today choose certified goods, and JSC “Solikamskbumprom” offers exactly these.
