On March 21, at the initiative of JSC “Solikamskbumprom” management, a business meeting with representatives of regional authorities on forest management issues was held at the Administration of the Solikamsk Municipal District. As part of the working visit, the guests visited the production site of JSC “Solikamskbumprom”.
The delegation to Solikamsk included Alexander Borisov, Deputy Chairman of the Perm Krai Government; Dmitry Belanovich, Minister of Natural Resources, Forestry, and Ecology of Perm Krai; and his deputy, Oleg Solontsov. The meeting was attended by JSC "Solikamskbumprom" executives, led by company President Natalia Stupnikova; Alexander Rusanov, Head of the Municipal District; and directors of the Solikamsk, Cherdyn, Krasnovishersk, and Vaya forestry units.
Evgenia Pisotskaya, Development Director of JSC “Solikamskbumprom”, reported on the company’s performance over the past year and shared plans:
“In our operations, we strictly adhere to the principles of sustainable development, social and environmental responsibility. Today, the company and its subsidiaries employ around 4,000 workers. Despite severe workforce shortages, we have retained all competencies necessary to produce high-quality goods and maintain the operability of highly complex equipment. In 2022 and 2024, interliner, newsprint and technical lignosulfonates became the winners of the All-Russian competition "100 best goods of Russia", and the company received the right to label these types of products with the appropriate mark. More than 85% of products are shipped to export markets, where, due to the quality of products, service, as well as the regularity and fulfillment of delivery dates, a strong brand of JSC “Solikamskbumprom” was formed. Despite all the difficulties, we continue to work on the development of production. Currently, we are focusing resources on projects aimed at improving production efficiency and labor productivity. Timber is a strategic resource for us, so the company prioritizes expanding its own logging and timber transportation operations. JSC “Solikamskbumprom” is a responsible forest user — we pay lease fees for forests in full and on time and carry out comprehensive forest management, reforestation, and fire prevention work”.
Meeting participants discussed in detail the use of forest areas leased by JSC “Solikamskbumprom”, the company’s compliance with lease agreements, the quality of state services in forestry and forest use, and challenges faced by forest users. Significant attention was given to the transition starting January 1, 2025, to the federal state information system for the forestry sector (FGIS LC) and associated operational constraints for both regulatory agencies and the forestry business.
“We are pleased to be in Solikamsk and could not refuse the proposal from Solikamskbumprom to dedicate part of this trip to issues related to the company’s operations, review last year’s results, and outline future plans and prospects”, commented Alexander Borisov, Deputy Chairman of the Perm Krai Government (for environmental management and security).
In closing, Alexander Valeryevich highlighted the high social significance of JSC “Solikamskbumprom’s” activities and assured that the Perm Krai authorities are ready to support the company’s development projects aimed at improving the efficiency of leased forest area use.
