Honorary Title for a Papermakers’ Dynasty

The Penyagin dynasty consists of four generations of employees of JSC “Solikamskbumprom” with a combined work experience of 525 years. The family’s history is inseparably linked to the history of the mill: it began in 1941, the year the enterprise was founded.

The founder of the working dynasty was Vasily Nikanorovich Penyagin (1902–1944). He worked as a foreman of water supply workshop at the Solikamsk sulphite pulp mill. Vasily’s brother, Mikhail Nikanorovich, also worked at the paper mill. In 1944, the working life of Vasily Nikanorovich’s son, Nikolai Penyagin, also began. He joined the paper mill as an apprentice locksmith – he was only 14 years old at the time. He devoted 53 years to his native enterprise. For his numerous achievements, he was repeatedly awarded certificates and letters of gratitude, and his name has been entered in the Book of Honor of JSC “Solikamskbumprom”.

Today, the family tradition is continued by grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Petr Nikolayevich Penyagin, production and technical support engineer of the timber carrier shop, and his wife, Galina Mikhailovna Penyagina, labor standardization engineer of the Labor and Wages Department; their daughters, Yulia Fedorova, process engineer of the Chief Mechanic’s Department, and Tatyana Shvetsova, economist of the Economic Analysis and Planning Department; as well as a grandnephew, Alexey Penyagin, instrumentation fitter at Paper Production No. 2. In 2025, the family was awarded the Badge of Honor “Family Pride of Perm Krai.”

The 59.ru People’s Award ceremony took place on 24 June. At the invitation of the Governor of Perm Krai, Dmitry Makhonin, representatives of the dynasty took part in presenting awards to the best representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, winners in the “Made in Prikamye” nomination. The editorial board of the 59.ru portal conferred the title of “People’s Hero” on the Penyagin dynasty for their many years of important work for the benefit of Perm Krai.

- For us, the award and participation in the ceremony came as an unexpected but pleasant surprise, - Tatyana Shvetsova told a correspondent of “Bumazhnik”. – The festive atmosphere, red carpet, distinguished guests, warm ambiance, and numerous awards – the event was organized at the highest level and emphasized the significance of each award recipient. We unwittingly found ourselves among the main heroes – at the invitation of Dmitry Makhonin, I announced a winner in one of the nominations.

According to Tatiana Petrovna, it is very important that great attention is paid to people of production today – it is important to maintain the status of a person of work, then young people will strive to work in industrial enterprises. Tatiana herself joined JSC “Solikamskbumprom” in her parents' footsteps in 2010 and admits that she is proud of her ancestors and the entire Penyagin labor dynasty.
