Today, 168 maintenance technicians work at JSC Solikamskbumprom. Among them, 13 of the bravest and most ambitious decided to compete for the title of "Best in the Profession" at the "Best Maintenance Technician" Skills Competition, held on March 14 in the grinding section of the Repair and Mechanical Workshop. Ten students from the Solikamsk Technological College, a long-standing educational partner in training specialists for JSC Solikamskbumprom, also participated.
“The Maintenance Technician profession is one of the most critical in production today, as equipment becomes increasingly advanced each year, requiring highly skilled workers to maintain it,” emphasized Natalia Stupnikova, President of JSC Solikamskbumprom. “Our complex, often unique equipment is operated by highly professional maintenance technicians, who are competing here today. These professionals pass on their expertise to younger workers. That’s why students from the technological college, whose skills be needed by our enterprise in the future, are participating alongside professionals.” The participants had to pass 2 stages - theoretical and practical, the tasks of each stage were developed taking into account the level of competitors' training.
“The tasks we completed today are fundamental to mechanical work. What really challenged us was working under time pressure. In our daily work, flawless quality is our priority, and we always put it first,” shared Maxim Lebedev, a maintenance technician from the Centralized Repair Workshop.
Alongside the professionals, future colleagues, students from the Solikamsk Technological College, demonstrated their knowledge. These young individuals are passionately mastering the Maintenance Technician trade, honing their skills, knowing that “a master’s golden hands are the foundation of professional success and respect in the workplace.”
“Competing here is a huge step forward for me! At first, I was nervous about facing experienced specialists. But now, standing among professionals, I feel only excitement and a desire to show everything I’ve learned!” said Konstantin Gorozhaninov, a third-year student at Solikamsk Technological College.
